91´óÉñ Social Media Ambassador

Thanks for agreeing to be a Social Media Ambassador (SMA) for 91´óÉñ! Check out our Social Media Ambassador FAQ's if you have more questions.

We know that many of you love 91´óÉñ and want to give back. Your endorsement is one of the most powerful assets we have as an institution, and we are grateful for your talents and influence and enthusiasm! 91´óÉñ Social Media Ambassadors work with the Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement to help spread the news of positive stories, exciting events, and giving opportunities.

  • Join the 91´óÉñ social media platforms that you already use especially Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. So, what are we asking you to do? SHARE. SHARE. SHARE!
  • Contribute positive messages and conversation to those platforms and regularly interact with likes, comments, and shares. We hope that you’ll share at least one 91´óÉñ posting per month.
  • Provide special support through shares and personal posts during our major events such as Homecoming and Family Weekend, Giving Tuesday, athletic contests and Alumni Appreciation Day. During these events, SMAs will receive emails with suggested posts and content to consider sharing that you can tweak to reflect your voice. We want the messages to be personal but we also want this to be easy and convenient for you!
  • Let us know of your interest. If you have questions, contact us via marketing@emu.edu

FAQs

Do I need to be active on all the College’s social media accounts?
No! While the ideal ambassador will use many social networks, we know that you have your individual preferences. We want you to spread 91´óÉñ news any way you can!

How often do I need to be actively promoting social media posts?
We encourage SMAs to be as active as possible given busy schedules. During our high priority events (Homecoming and Family Weekend, Alumni Appreciation Day, and Giving Tuesday) we hope everyone will be as active as possible and post before, during, and after!

Do I need to change my privacy settings?
No. The idea is that you will help spread 91´óÉñ information to your followers. We’re not asking that you change any settings just share information in your voice, to your circles.

What’s in it for me?
Volunteering as a social media ambassador provides an opportunity for enthusiastic and engaged individuals to represent 91´óÉñ. Ambassadors serve a significant role in supporting our online community by facilitating conversations, promoting awareness, and sharing good news. (In addition, there might be some cool swag in it for you!)

Thanks again for being an 91´óÉñ Social Media Ambassador!
