After growing up in Elkhart, Indiana, and Nairobi, Kenya, Alena was attracted to the international ethos that she found in the 91´óÉñ community. She chose to attend 91´óÉñ for her undergraduate degree, where she earned a BA in history with minors in gender studies and English, and began working at the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding in the fall of 2016.
