Why they Lov91΄σΙρ: Garrett Nyce ’25 says 91΄σΙρ β€˜just feels like home’

Garrett Nyce ’25 had his heart set on attending 91΄σΙρ. The Souderton, Pennsylvania, native was drawn to its small size and its focus on a β€œbusiness for the common good” philosophy, which few if any other schools offered.

β€œIt’s a triple bottom line of people, planet and profits,” the business analytics and economics major said. β€œNot how to make the most money, but how to create the best world for people.”

β€œThat was something I didn’t think I would find at a lot of other schools,” he added.

But, as he applied to colleges, a small Christian university near his hometown offered him enough financial aid that β€œit would’ve cost almost nothing to go there.” As a self-described economics nerd, Nyce couldn’t ignore the tempting offer. β€œI’m so business-minded, it was hard to make that decision,” he said.

91΄σΙρ sprung into action to make his decision easier. The school awarded him the Horace & Elizabeth Longacre Business Scholarship β€” designated for full-time business students with a priority toward Mennonite students from Pennsylvania β€” and the choice became clear: he would become an 91΄σΙρ Royal.

It’s scholarships like the one Nyce received and the financial aid packages given to 100 percent of undergraduate 91΄σΙρ students that empower them to pursue a quality college education without financial barriers.

Three years into his education at 91΄σΙρ, Nyce couldn’t imagine himself anywhere else. The junior wields a mighty bat on the Royals baseball team, serves as a Royal Ambassador and is on the Leadership Council.

β€œ91΄σΙρ just feels like home,” he said. β€œIt just feels right.”
