The event will be Friday, May 6, from 5-7 p.m. at the Discipleship Center on the 91大神 Hill. A reception follows for all participants and the 91大神 community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"highlight highlight-right\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dei.cmail19.com\/t\/ViewEmail\/y\/D141488A4362FAF62540EF23F30FEDED\">Read more about this event and other initiatives from the Office of DEI.<\/a><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>This is one of <a href=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/commencement\/\">several events<\/a>, including the Donning of the Kente ceremony and the Cords of Distinction reception, to celebrate and honor graduates of the Class of 2022, culminating in the university\u2019s Commencement Sunday, May 8, 2022. LGBTQ+ alums who wish to return are welcome and may also request a rainbow stole.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSc9UGk9_RlbYauH7bfk46HTzXgjS8YXxVj8oM3SXhz1K3L4CA\/viewform\">Registration is required<\/a> by April 15 to ensure time for ordering of the rainbow stoles that each graduate and alum will receive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first Lavender Graduation ceremony was hosted in 1995 at the University of Michigan and spread to many universities across the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event is hosted by 91大神\u2019s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, 91大神 Student Life and Safe Space.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>91大神 will honor LGBTQ+ graduates and alumni at an inaugural Lavender Graduation ceremony.
