Scholarship Opportunities for US students

There are many opportunities available to qualified undergraduate students who are serious about putting significant time and effort into completing a competitive applications and essays to help fund their international intercultural learning. International students, graduate students, scholars, and faculty may find resources on study abroad funding through the .

Intercultural Programs Fund Grants

This fund -- generously established by 91大神 alumni who are passionate about the lifelong benefits of intercultural learning -- supports students with high financial need seeking help paying for their preferred off-campus intercultural travel program. Eligible students must:

  • Be a fulltime 91大神 undergraduate student
  • Have applied for or been accepted to an 91大神 intercultural travel program
  • Be eligible for Federal Financial Aid
  • Have not already completed the Intercultural graduation requirement

 

 Scholarships for 91大神 Washington Semester Students

91大神 provides generous scholarship support to students participating in any term at the (fall, spring, or summer). These funds are specifically targeted to defray the costs of a term in DC and do not displace other sources of financial assistance that students have been receiving. Fund for Education Abroad

The offers general scholarships for U.S.undergraduates who plan to study abroad for at least four weeks during the academic year or a summer term. Up to $5,000 may be awarded for a semester program and a summer award is calculated at a proportionate amount. The application cycle opens in November for the following academic year, beginning with summer programs. The application deadline is in January. FEA strongly encourages students to apply who represent a group that is traditionally underrepresented in education abroad. Those groups include, but are not limited to:
Minority students
First-generation college students
Community college students
Students with disabilities
Student Athletes
Veterans
Returning learners

The offers awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding and participating in a for-credit intercultural program of any length in any country except Cuba or a country on the U.S. Department of State鈥檚 current . October 5 and March 1 are deadlines for spring and fall semesters. The summer application deadline is March 7. Most awards are around $4,000 for the semester.

are funded by the National Security Education Program (NSEP), which focuses on geographic areas, languages, and fields of study deemed critical to U.S. national security. Applicants identify how their study abroad programs or overseas projects, as well as their future academic and career goals, will contribute to U.S. national security, broadly defined. NSEP draws on a broad definition of national security, recognizing that the scope of national security has expanded to include not only the traditional concerns of protecting and promoting American well-being, but also the challenges of global society, including sustainable development, environmental degradation, global disease and hunger, population growth and migration, and economic competitiveness. Awards are for up to one academic year. Boren Scholars demonstrate their merit for an award of up to $20,000 in part by committing to work for the U.S. Government for at least 1 year.

Go Overseas Study & Intern Abroad Scholarship

offers a bi-annual scholarship to Undergrad and graduate students who are planning on studying or interning abroad. Applicants must submit a photo essay and quick survey to enter. The award of $500, is given to the most creative entrant.

Everence

As a benefit to clients or their dependents, Everence offers 42 scholarships each academic year, ranging from $750-$2,000. Successful candidates demonstrate excellence in academic scholarship as well as volunteerism and leadership contributions to their school or community. Fulbright ScholarsThe is the U.S. Government鈥檚 flagship international exchange program for students planning on overseas study and research after graduation. If you are a U.S. citizen who will have a bachelor鈥檚 degree by the beginning date of the grant and you are thinking of studying, assistant-teaching English, or conducting research abroad, you could be one of more than 1,500 students who receive a Fulbright U.S. Student grant each year to go overseas. Application deadline is the end of September/October and should be started at least two months in advance.
